The aim of this book is to give UNWE students of Economics and Business, as well as those doing a degree in Administration and Management, the opportunity to improve their command of English for examination and career purposes. Through text and task the book acquaints students with a variety of settings to which they will be exposed academically and professionally: from the environment of higher education, through the framework of British and American government, to economic and business concepts. The book is divided into fourteen units, each focusing on a particular topic with a range of basic and specific vocabulary. Reading compre-hension, listening comprehension and use of English tasks allow for a linguistically varied coverage of the topics. Writing tasks include describing graphically and numerically displayed information, summarizing, business letter writing, as well as report and proposal writing.
English for Economics and Business Studies has an extensive Key and Listening Scripts section to enable use as a self-study book.
